HOW TO SOLVE ADHESIVE STRENGTH OF EVA FILM FOR LAMINATED GLASS

Importance:

The adhesive strength of EVA Film is very important for laminated glass. The adhesion will affect the safety of laminated glass and the delamination of laminated glass.

So, which factors will influence the adhesion of EVA Film:

1.The type of EVA Film

Generally speaking, the super-transparent EVA Film is stronger in adhesion than the normal transparent EVA Film. The outdoor type EVA Film is stronger in adhesion than the indoor type of EVA Film.

2.The manufacturer of the EVA Film

Because different EVA Film manufacturer has different formula of producing EVA Film. So the adhesion of the EVA Film will be different.

3.Heating temperature of the EVA Film

When laminating the EVA Film, the heating temperature will affect the cross link reaction, which will lead to the adhesive strength of the EVA Film.

4. The Heating Time

The heating time must be long enough for the cross link reaction to be fulfilled.

5.The storage of the EVA Film

If you open the package of the EVA Film, then don’t use up, the left EVA Film may absorb some moisture, which will do harm to the adhesion strength.

Why Switchable Transparent Film Break away When Laminating with Glass and EVA Interlayer Film？

Last post we talk about the EVA Interlayer Film for Laminated Smart Glass,today we are going to talk about why Smart Film(Switchable Transparent Film) break away itself when laminating with glass and EVA Interlayer Film.

Some customers made the Smart Glass with EVA Interlayer Film, and the Switchable Transparent Film break away it self, so he ask EVA Interlayer Film Manufacturers whether the EVA Interlayer Film produce some chemical substance that cause the Switchable Transparent Film breaking away itself?

The answer is no.

So then what is the real why?

Because the Switchable Transparent Film itself is a laminated Film.

Composition of Switchable Transparent Film:

The polymer and the liquid crystals are encapsulated in the Switchable Transparent Film. Both faces of the film are covered with a transparent, ITO coating. Both ITO coatings are connected to a flat electrical busbar, which is fixed on one of the edges of the film.

When the Switchable Transparent Laminated Glass is being heated and then cooled, the EVA Interlayer Film, glass and Switchable Transparent Film will follow the Expand from Heat and Contract from Cold rule.

But Switchable Transparent Film’s the degree of the Expand from Heat and Contract from Cold is more than the EVA Interlayer Film and glasses. And also the adhesive strength between the EVA Interlayer Film and Switchable Transparent Film is harder than the adhesive strength between the layers inside the Switchable Transparent Film. And the adhesive strength between the EVA Interlayer Film and glasses is harder than the adhesive strength between the layers inside the Switchable Transparent Film

That’s the reason why the Switchable Transparent Film Break away When Laminating with Glass and EVA Interlayer Film.

How to solve this problem:

Some EVA Interlayer Film Manufacturers have made the low-temperature(about 80-85 degree)-processing EVA Interlayer Film dedicated for makeing Switchable Transparent Laminated Glass.

With using the low-temperature-processing EVA Interlayer Film, you can solve this problem.
